I don't care to win the prize.. for one, Reed doesn't have any hair whatsoever and two.. I'm not sure his daddy would be happy if I even tried to tape this bow to his head! so if my # gets selected.. pick someone else :) ENJOY!

  4. since you monkey's like alcohol and are looking for something sweet, here ya go:

    Banana's Foster
    Ingredients: - 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter
    - 1 cup brown sugar
    - 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
    - 1/4 cup banana liqueur
    - 4 bananas, cut in half lengthwise, then halved
    - 1/4 cup dark rum
    - 4 scoops vanilla ice cream

    Directions:

Combine the butter, sugar, and cinnamon in a flambé pan or skillet.
Place the pan over low heat either on an alcohol burner or on top of the stove, and cook, stirring, until the sugar dissolves.
Stir in the banana liqueur, then place the bananas in the pan.
When the banana sections soften and begin to brown, carefully add the rum.
Continue to cook the sauce until the rum is hot, then tip the pan slightly to ignite the rum.
When the flames subside, lift the bananas out of the pan and place four pieces over each portion of ice cream.
Generously spoon warm sauce over the top of the ice cream and serve immediately.

  7. Don't know what to do with your bananas that you haven't been able to eat before they went bad? Make this easy banana bread!

    1/4cup shortening
    1 egg
    2 cups flour
    1/2 t baking soda
3 T sour milk (to sour milk: mix 2.5 T milk w/ 1/2 T vinager or lemon juice) I prefer the juice
    3/4 cup sugar
2/3 c mashed ripe bananas (the browner/blacker and softer the better- easier to mash!)
    1/4 t salt
    1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Cream shortening + sugar, add egg, and alternate flour and liquid till all is mixed well.
Bake 350 degrees in greased loaf pan 60 minutes or until golden brown & cracked on top, not gooey looking.

    This recipe is EASILY DOUBLED!

If you have even more bananas left over (don't know why any monkey would, but in case you do) cut one end of the banana, squeeze them out of the peel and put them in a freezer bag, freeze them to use later for more banana bread!
